The picture is of Doug, my son with the biggest fish he has caught to date. This was fathers day, 2008. Myself, my dad and my son were able to go fishing on fathers day afternoon. We had a blast and caught alot of fish. I couldn't have asked for a better fathers day than to spend it with these two guys. It is a wonderful memory that I will have the rest of my life.
Well, It has been awhile since I posted anything on my blog so I thought I would do it before going to bed tonight. We have had a great July thus far. Our 4th of July was wonderful. With all 4 kids here, our 2 Son in Laws and the grandkids, it was great. I couldn't have ever asked for a better forth...The grandkids had a great time swimming. They are so much fun when they get in the pool, Peyton is my little shark, Griffin is my trickster from the diving board and of course, Reece is simply my little darling angel...Pops Baby!!!!!! Thanks family for such a wonderful holiday weekend. Thanks to my wonderful wife for doing all the work even though she didn't feel like it, she is a trooper...
If the 4 wasn't enough, we had a big party over here at our home on Sunday the 13th for Ben, my daughter's boyfriend. He has just returned from A-school in CA for the Navy. He had been gone since February so we had all the family over and I mean the ENTIRE family along with alot of his friends. We fixed something like 31 or 32 hamburgers and about 48 hotdogs I think. With the exception of 3 or 4 that we gave all the 4 legged kids, they were all eaten. Yep, we had alot of hungry folks. Guess all the crazy acting in the pool made all those kids hungry. But we all had a great time and we really enjoyed the music by some of the guys that brought guitars. Doug got in there and played and he was great.
All good things must come to an end and this weekend will be the last weekend that my son will be here with us. He has been here with us since the 23rd day of May with the exception of one week when he went home. I am dreading taking him to meet his mother on Sunday, it is always so hard on me to take him back. I've asked several times if he just wants to move up here with us and finish high school but he wants to finish down there and I can't blame him. This time will be really hard since he has been here with us for so long. I have gotten so used to him being here and helping me cut grass etc. It has truly been a blessing to be able to spend this summer with him. I don't guess he will be able to do this again as he turns 16 next May and will be working from now on.
Katie starts her second year of college next month and that is hard for me to believe. It seems like she just moved up here after she graduated from high school. Man, where does time go. I can't believe that we have 26, 21, 19 and 15 year old kids, not to mention the 3 wonderful grandkids.
Well, I hope that all that reads this, has a great rest of the week and a wonderful weekend. Take care and I'll write more later.
